Semester Length

Semester Length and Credit Hours:

HU has structured its programs in two, 20 week semesters.  Refer to the website Calendar or the site map under “Semester Dates” for beginning and ending dates of Semesters. Schedule. http://www.holosuniversity.org

New degree students attend the residential component of Orientation and Planning (OrP), which is held at Unity Village in the week following the Graduation/Ordination ceremonies at the beginning of the Fall Semester in September.  Students are encouraged to plan their semester work to complete all course work in advance of the final day of the semester.

With the exception of OrP each course follows the five-month semester structure.  Upon completion of each course, a student earns three credit-hours towards their degree requirements.  Four courses are exceptions to the three credit-hour standard: The Orientation Program (OrP) 1 credit-hour which is completed mid-term, the Basic Masters Thesis and the Masters Essays Thesis
(6 credit-hours each ) and the Dissertation course (12 credit-hours).
